With reference to the question of the allowances to
be paid to the thief Justice of Hongkong for sittin,: se an
Appeal Fudge at Bhanghai, I am directed by the Jecretary of
State for Foreign Affairs to inform you that your letter of
May 8th last (3 9837) was referred through the Colonial
Office to the Governm-nt of Keuken, with an anmiry as to
whether the arrangemmat sanotiend therein was nuoeptable to
the "oloxial Authorities.
Jopies of the reply received from the Jovernor of
Hongkong and the oevarin; letter from the Colonial office are
new transmitted herewith for the information of the Larde
Josmissioners of His Kaj os ty'a Treasury.
